Long time since that picture was taken - I haven’t seen a BX for years.

You should join us at our Wales trip, last week of March. Besides two mk3 MR2s there will be a BX too.

I’m guessing it’s a “south european” exclusive ? I’ve never seen one around here !

Finnish spec BX van. The roof hump was needed to get enough room for import tax exceptions. Removing it would be very expensive afterwards. The original roof has a relatively small access hole so it’s not very useful space.

Ahh, didn’t recognize the plate. Interesting, I can’t seem to find anything about it online. Curiouser and curiouser.

Our legislation has several silly things.
The BX van actually sold quite well here. It was very cheap. And vans’ annual diesel taxation is a lot lower than regular diesel cars have.
You can get a tax discount if a “van” has at least 3 cubic meters of space. The space is counted by laying three rectangles in the cargo space. One at the bottom, one in the middle and one at the top. The displacement is the the average area of these rectangles multiplied by the height difference of the lowest and highest. But the space can narrow down between the rectangles. If the measurement reel goes through it’s enough. So we have seen several fixed roof box installations.
